The Local Emergency Planning Committee supports emergency plannning, hazardous materials preparedness, and community right-to-know efforts in Kennebec County.
The LEPC works with local agencies, emergency responders, and community partners to improve preparedness and response to hazardous materials incidents.
LEPC meetings are held regularly and are open to the public.

Under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), certain information regarding hazardous materials is available to the public upon request.
Tier II reports provide information on hazardous chemicals stored at facilities in Kennebec County. These reports are submitted annually by facilities in accordance with EPCRA. This information supports emergency planning and response efforts within the county.
